Nathen ist das jüngste Mitglied von Flogging Molly und hat sich früher oft scherzhaft als das Baby der Band bezeichnet. Nathen kam durch seinen Vater zu Flogging Molly. Nathens Vater ist auch Musiker und ein Freund von George Schwindt. Für einige der ersten Flogging Molly Konzerte hat sich George das Schlagzeug von Nathens Vater geliehen und so gab eins das andere.
Aus den Kinderschuhen ist Nathen inzwischen lange heraus gewachsen. 2009 startete er sein Solo Projekt “Nathen Maxwell and the Original Bunny Gang” in dem er seiner Liebe um Reggae ausdruck verleiht. Mit von der Partie sind auch Nathens Vater und Matt Hensley.

Nathen is the youngest member of the band and used to call himself “the baby of the band”. Nathens father introduced him to the guys in Flogging Molly. George was Nathens fathers friend. His Dad was a musician in LA, Dave was playing and a lot of bands playing every week would just come to know each other. George actually borrowed the drum kit of Nathens father to audition for the band with Dave and Bridget.
